Dr. Weiss’s research and teaching interests are in the areas of accounting, auditing, and financial statement fraud. She brings the flipped classroom model to her classes providing the students with activities pertaining to accounting rather than complete lecture. Most notably is the use of the board game Monopoly to show the use of accounting.
“I started with Coker in 2009 as an adjunct and moved to a full-time role in the spring of 2013. I love teaching and working with the Coker students in both the day and evening programs. I enjoy accounting and finance, however my current passion is for uncovering fraud in businesses and determining why the individual(s) committed the fraud.”
